There are two summer sessions between May and August; each runs for 6 weeks. Students can attend one or both sessions.

Session offerings are indicated in the course number of each class. For example, CHEM S1403D General Chemistry I is offered in Session D. This is indicated in the course number (S1403D).
Course Levels and Requirements
College Edge students typically enroll in lower-level (1000–2999) courses and must obtain special permission from the College Edge Advisor to register for upper-level courses (3000 and above). In addition, College Edge students are restricted from enrolling in graduate level courses, workshops, seminar courses. Courses offered through Barnard College and through Columbia CORE office are also restricted to College Edge students.

Advisor permission is required to enroll in VIAR S1001Q- Basic Drawing.

The summer program is open to domestic or international students entering grades 11 or 12, or freshman year of college in the fall, as well as those that graduated within the past two academic years.
