Session Dates

Session I classes begin on Tuesday, May 28th and end on Friday, July 5th. Make sure you review your student schedule on SSOL to confirm your course meeting times.

Please note: Classes are not held on Thursday, July 4th, in observance of Independence Day. 

Orientation

Closer to the start of the program, students will receive a link to an online Orientation. In addition, students will also receive information regarding first day activities and events.

Session II, Commuter

Session II classes will begin on Monday, July 8th and end on Friday, August 16. Make sure you review your student schedule on SSOL to confirm your course meeting times.

Orientation

Closer to the start of the program, students will receive email communications regarding first day activities and events. 

Session II, Residential

Check-In

Dormitory check-in takes place on Sunday, July 7th, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. It is not possible to move into the residence halls before this time. Check-in takes place in front of John Jay Hall, which is located on Columbia‚Äôs main campus, near the John Jay and 114th Street campus gate. The 114th Street - John Jay campus gate provides the most direct access to John Jay Hall plaza. Arrivals preferring to avoid a short stair at the John Jay Gate, can access campus via the Furnald Gate at 115th and Broadway. Short-term parking is available on 114th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue. Information about getting to campus and about paid parking garages can be found here. Staff members wearing program T-shirts will be at both John Jay and Furnald Gates and around campus directing students to the check-in site.

Residential students attend a welcome barbecue at 5:00 p.m. on check-in day. The students will also attend a Resident Adviser-led orientation meeting that evening. Program policies and procedures as well as safety guidelines, behavioral standards, and social and recreational options are covered in detail.

Session Dates

Session II classes begin on Monday, July 8th. Resident advisers escort residential students to breakfast and then students make their way to their classes per their individual schedule. Make sure you review your student schedule on SSOL to confirm your course meeting times. The last day of classes is Friday, August 16th.

Check-Out

Check-out for residential students takes place on Saturday, August 17th, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All students must vacate the residence hall by 11:00 a.m.
