Debmalya Basak is a mathematician with a passion for uncovering hidden patterns in prime numbers and beyond. He will soon receive his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign after which he’s headed to the prestigious Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn as a postdoctoral researcher. Debmalya’s research dives deep into the secrets of number theory—an area filled with centuries-old mysteries and modern breakthroughs. He loves inspiring students to see math not just as formulas and theorems, but as a powerful, creative language that helps us understand the world.
