Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity New
As digital technologies become increasingly integrated into everyday life, protecting computer systems, networks, and sensitive information has become more important than ever. This hands-on course introduces students to the technical foundations of cybersecurity and ethical hacking, exploring how security professionals identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and protect digital systems from cyber threats. Topics may include network security, operating systems, encryption, common cyberattacks, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and defensive security techniques. Students will examine how hackers exploit weaknesses in computer systems and how cybersecurity professionals use similar techniques to identify and address security vulnerabilities. Through practical exercises, simulated cyberattacks, and collaborative challenges in controlled environments, students will develop foundational skills in cybersecurity tools, problem-solving, and ethical hacking methodologies. By the end of the course, students will gain an understanding of the technical processes involved in securing digital systems and defending against cyber threats.
Prerequisite: Students should have strong foundational computer skills, including familiarity with operating systems, file management, and software applications. Prior experience with programming (such as Python), computer networking, or command-line interfaces is beneficial but not required.
