Connor Smith

Instructor | Pre-College Programs

Connor Smith is a Ph.D. student in the Politics Department at The New School for Social Research, specializing in global politics and political theory. His research analyzes the materiality and design of political identity documents as a way to explore broader questions about citizenship, migration, and contemporary forms of state and non-state power. He also teaches at the Parsons School of Design, is a Research Fellow at the International Rescue Committee's Airbel Impact Lab, and holds the Melamid Fellowship in Migration Studies at the Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility. Connor previously worked in global human rights philanthropy, and strategy consulting, and at two U.S. embassies in Southeast Asia. He received an M.A. in Political Theory from the University of Ljubljana and a B.A. in International Relations from The College of William & Mary.
