Katherine Kartheiser

Instructor | Pre-College Programs

Dr. Kartheiser is a distinguished science educator dedicated to making biology and chemistry accessible, engaging, and rigorous. With a deep academic foundation, she earned her Doctorate in Education from Vanderbilt University and her B.A. in biology from Brown University, where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Currently a faculty member at The Dalton School, with prior tenure at The Ethical Culture Fieldston School, she brings extensive experience from some of the nation’s most challenging academic environments. Dr. Kartheiser leverages this expertise to bridge the gaps that often make science feel intimidating, using vivid analogies and clear, step-by-step guidance to move students beyond rote memorization toward genuine comprehension. By balancing high academic standards with supportive instruction, she not only builds confidence but sparks a genuine enjoyment of science.
