Starlett Hartley

Starlett Hartley is a PhD student in social psychology at The New School for Social Research, where she is a member of the Moral Psychology lab. Her research interests include social identity, identity politics, sacred values, and understanding the moral norms that guide cooperation and conflict between and within groups. In particular, she enjoys analyzing people who identify with groups, such as political groups or sports teams, and how the identities shape social cognition and social relationships. In addition to these research interests, Starlett teaches social psychology and policy to undergraduate students and mentors students in advanced statistics. Her teaching philosophy involves allowing students to engage with critical theory in a fun and engaging way.
