Leroy Sibanda

Leroy Sibanda is an experienced engineer and educator with an extensive background in engineering and management. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics. He further advanced his expertise at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he completed dual Master of Science degrees in Engineering and Management, and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. At MIT, he was a fellow in Integrated Design and Management, working at the intersection of engineering, business, and design, as well as focusing on artificial intelligence and decision-making. Professionally, Leroy has held roles at large corporations and startups alike, where he led projects that merged mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to create truly impactful products. Currently, his research has focused on building education curricula for technology development in the African context and developing AI-driven coaches to improve human-human negotiation in multi-party negotiations. Leroy views engineers as problem solvers and is most excited about nurturing a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving that allows for new insights and valuable perspectives.
