Hannah Actor-Engel

Hannah Actor-Engel is a neuroscientist and medical writer with a strong focus on community-building and leadership. She holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, and a B.S. in Neural Science from New York University. As a medical writer, she has created scientific content for diverse audiences, focusing on making complex scientific concepts clear and accessible. During her doctoral work, she investigated the cellular and molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease. Her expertise lies in learning and memory, synaptic plasticity, and microscopy. Hannah is a dedicated mentor; she has worked with graduate rotation students, undergraduates, and high schoolers in the lab. She also founded and led a student organization that connected trainees with mental health professionals and services. She is passionate about increasing scientific literacy and empowering the next generation of scientists.
