David Lipton

Dr. David Lipton completed a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Stanford University, and a postdoc at Hebrew University. During his graduate studies, David studied the initial events leading to the formation of synapses, which are the connections between neurons, using tiny worms called C. Elegans. In his postdoc, David studied how different actions are encoded in the reward and action-selection circuits in the brain, together called the basal ganglia. David is a passionate teacher and mentor, and both during graduate school and his postdoc dedicated a significant amount of time to both mentoring students in research and engaging in science communication/outreach.
