Shana DeVlieger

Dr. Shana E. DeVlieger is an educator and applied developmental scientist whose work examines how social and policy contexts shape the well-being of young children and the adults who care for them. Before entering academia, she worked as a public school teacher. Her research integrates developmental psychology, early childhood education, and policy analysis to understand how caregiving, family well-being, and early learning environments relate to social and policy contexts. Dr. DeVlieger has taught university and professional development courses in child development, assessment, and intervention. She holds a PhD and MPhil in Teaching and Learning from New York University, an Ed.M. from Harvard University, and an M.A.T. from the University of Southern California.
