Alécia Chen

Alécia Chen is a legal leader and corporate strategist with deep experience navigating the intersection of finance, technology, and law. She currently serves as the General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer at Climb Credit, a fintech platform dedicated to expanding access to career-advancing education. Alécia’s oversight includes the company’s legal, compliance, and external affairs functions, from capital markets financing to corporate governance to regulatory strategy. A graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, Alécia began her career in private practice at global firms Milbank LLP and Dechert LLP, where she specialized in finance and corporate law. She also advises and serves on boards of nonprofit entities. With Alécia’s unique experience in hybrid legal and non-legal leadership roles and advising various types and sizes of organizations, she brings a practical, real-world perspective to the study of business organizations, stakeholder responsibilities, and the legal documentation that drives corporate success.
