Hollen Spain

Hollen Spain is a poet and writer from Northern Westchester, New York. She received a BA in English Creative Writing from Bucknell University in May 2025 and is presently a student in Columbia’s MFA program. In recent years, Hollen has taken on significant roles such as serving as a Professor’s Assistant for the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program, a Student Teacher at the Lewisburg Area School District, and a Writing Instructor for Columbia Artists/Teachers. Alongside teaching, Hollen has held editorial positions with West Branch Magazine and Confetti Head Literary Magazine. Her poetry engages with the pastoral, exploring the natural world while reflecting on and questioning human-wildlife relations. As of this spring, she is developing a collection based in the ACE Basin of the Lowcountry, South Carolina.
