Dr. Seven Rasmussen is an astrophysicist, author, and professional science communicator. She holds a Ph.D in nuclear astrophysics from University of Notre Dame, and conducted research in exoplanet characterization at University of Michigan and MIT, focusing on the mineral atmospheres of lava planets and the performance of NASA's planned Habitable Worlds Observatory. Dr. Rasmussen's debut non-fiction, CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF STARSHIPS: HOW THE DRAKE EQUATION REVEALS THE ODDS OF LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE, will be available from Princeton University Press on August 4, 2026. She is also a full member of Science Fiction Writers of America and represented by Luba Ostashevsky of Ayesha Pande Literary.
