A.C. Harkness is a PhD student in Cognitive, Social, and Developmental Psychology at the New School. She holds an MA in Research Psychology from the New School, and a BFA in Electronic Art from Carnegie Mellon University. AC's research focuses on human computer interaction, psycholinguistics, and new research methodologies. Her recent work includes identifying new ways to explain uncertainty in scientific communication, investigating the impact of delay indicators in chatbots, and applying neuroscience methodology to the study of LLM hidden states. AC is lab manager for the Language and Interaction Lab and teaches Methods of Inquiry at the New School.
