Anastasia Spiridonova
Instructor | Pre-College Programs
Dr. Anastasia Spiridonova is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Long Island University and the New York City College of Technology. She earned her Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics from the CUNY Graduate Center in 2023 and her B.S. from the Macaulay Honors College at the City College of New York in 2018. She has been teaching undergraduate physics lectures and laboratories since her time in graduate school. Her research focuses on the fundamental properties of excitons in two-dimensional semiconductors under magnetic and electric fields. Following her doctoral work, she expanded her research into mathematical physics, where her group was the first to obtain an exact solution to the two-dimensional Schrödinger equation with Kratzer-type potentials. More recently, she has begun exploring Floquet dynamics. Dr. Spiridonova has authored peer-reviewed publications and has presented her work at national and international conferences.
