Carrie McAuliffe

Associate Director, Curriculum and Teaching

Carrie McAuliffe is the Associate Director of Curriculum and Teaching for Pre College Programs within Columbia University's School of Professional Studies. Working closely with the Senior Director of Instruction and Curriculum, Carrie supports classroom experiences by assisting in program development, syllabus review, and instructional support. She contributes to instructor recruitment efforts, helps identify areas for instructor coaching through data analysis and classroom observations, and facilitates professional development initiatives. Additionally, Carrie collaborates with program leadership to implement curriculum enhancements and ensure a high-quality learning experience for all Pre-College students.

Before joining the Academic Affairs team, Carrie served on the Team for Instructional and Pedagogical Support (TIPS), providing pedagogical and professional development to Pre-College Program instructors. Carrie has worked in educational settings for over 15 years, with extensive experience teaching in both NYCDOE middle schools and higher education settings. She is skilled in curriculum design, literacy coaching, and educational research. Her work focuses on the mentorship and development of novice teachers, bridging theory and practice, and helping both educators and students translate academic knowledge into a real-world impact. 

Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, Carrie also holds an MA from Teachers College, a BA in English from St. Lawrence University and a Graduate Certificate in Educational Research from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
