Catherine Paura

Catherine Paura is an educator and movie marketing expert who has worked with Disney, Paramount, Sony, Universal, and Warner Bros. on countless films. As co-founder of Hollywood’s premiere consulting and market research firm, Catherine has helped movie studios navigate highly competitive and changing marketing landscapes. In addition, she has
produced two major motion pictures. Catherine has taught incarcerated individuals at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility and has been a speaker at Georgetown University and guest lecturer at NYU, USC, and Chapman University.

Catherine was the founding director of Mount St. Mary’s University’s (MSMU) film school, and has a Master's Degree in Humanities from the University. Her dissertation was on Race Films, a parallel universe of movies made mostly by blacks for blacks between 1915 and 1955. Race Films, or black cinema as it is also called, is an important part of the American cultural journey. She has written articles for Variety on the current moviegoer marketplace and was named by Variety as a woman who has impacted filmed entertainment.
