Dyana Kimball

Dyana Kimball is a versatile theatre-maker, professor, and director with a strong commitment to collaborative and original theatre. She holds an M.F.A. in directing from Columbia University and a B.A. in English literature from Boston University. Dyana has a rich background in both academia and professional theatre. She has taught directing, acting, theatre history, and communication courses at various institutions, including Marymount Manhattan College, Long Island University, Montgomery County Community College, and Columbia University. Dyana's directorial repertoire spans over 50 productions, ranging from off-off Broadway in NYC to opera in Alaska.

In addition to her academic roles, Dyana has left her mark on the New York City theatre scene with directing credits including works by Will Eno, Bertolt Brecht, Alice Tuan, Thornton Wilder, and more. She has also been actively involved in the founding and leadership of theatre collectives such as the Boston Directors’ Lab and Ontik. Notable regional directing credits include adaptations of Kafka's "Metamorphosis" and productions of Mozart's "Don Giovanni.” Most recent favorite productions include Sophocles, “Antigone” and Sarah Ruhl’s “Orlando.” Both at Montgomery County Community College.

Dyana's dedication to education extends beyond the traditional classroom setting. She has run collaborative theatre programs for high school students at Columbia University and has served as an artistic director and co-director for various productions. Currently, Dyana serves as a part-time faculty member in the Theatre Department at Montgomery County Community College, where she continues to inspire and mentor aspiring theatre artists.
