Jasper Pan

Instructor | Pre-College Programs

Jasper Pan is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance at The College of New Jersey and a Pre-College Instructor at Columbia University. He earned his Ph.D. in Finance from Rutgers University, an M.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University, and a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Applied Mathematics and Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. His research focuses on banking, financial regulation, and financial technology. His recent work on bank diversification, stock return volatility, and tail risk has been presented at major conferences, including the Financial Management Association, Eastern Finance Association, Southwestern Finance Association, Contemporary Issues in Financial Markets and Banking, Northeast Business and Economics Association, Sydney Banking and Financial Stability Conference, and the Pacific Basin Finance, Economics, Accounting, and Management Conference. 

Dr. Pan’s research has earned several honors, including recognition as a member of the American Finance Association Committee on Racial Diversity and the Hazel Vera Dean Fellowship at Rutgers University. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Foundations of Financial Technology, Investments and Financial Analysis, and Financial Management at The College of New Jersey, Rutgers University, and Sacred Heart University. He has consistently received strong student evaluations across in-person, hybrid, and online formats. In addition, he serves as an independent finance educator and research mentor at Ignision Education.
