Lauren Futter

Lauren Futter is a sixth-year PhD candidate in Political Science at Columbia University, specializing in American politics and game-theoretic modeling. Her research examines how politics influences the design of political institutions and public policy, with a focus on legislative bargaining over the distribution of public services such as Medicaid and TANF. She also studies how government agencies design eligibility criteria for these and similar programs.
Lauren has taught courses on U.S. politics and game theory and holds a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago.
