Lei Yu

Lei Yu is a Senior Economist at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and served as an Economist at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Prior to her regulatory career, she worked as a quantitative researcher and trader in hedge funds and as a researcher in designing execution algorithms at Goldman Sachs.
Lei Yu earned her Ph.D. in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business, with research and publications focused on market microstructure, time-series modeling, and asset pricing. She has extensive teaching experience at leading institutions, including Columbia University School of Professional Studies, the University of Notre Dame, and NYU Stern, where she has taught courses in foundations of finance, investments, corporate finance, and options markets.
