Mark Blacher

Mark Blacher holds a B.A. in English from Columbia University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude, and an M.A. in comparative literature from UCLA, where he focused on Anglo-American and Russian modernism and fell in love with teaching. He has worked with Columbia’s Pre-College Programs in instructional, administrative, and student life capacities, including five years as Director of Faculty and Instruction. Outside of Columbia, Mark provides private instruction in literary analysis and essay writing, both online and in person. He also enjoys traveling and taking photos worldwide, from Oaxaca to Alaska and Yosemite to Varanasi.
