Melissa Sexton has worked in the financial industry for more than 30 years, including as Chief Risk Officer at BNY Mellon Wealth Management, Head of Investment Risk at Morgan Stanley, and Portfolio Risk Manager at several alternative asset managers. Through evolving market environments, financial innovation, and regulatory change, she has gained expertise in financial risk management, market analysis, portfolio management and trading, derivatives, and risk governance. She serves on the Board of Math, Engineering, and Science Academy (MESA), a charter high school dedicated to providing a rigorous education to equip every student with the ability to succeed in life. She holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Boston University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder. As an instructor, Melissa enjoys connecting real-world events and theoretical concepts. She is an avid reader and loves climbing mountains in the Catskills.
