Payton Selby

Payton Selby is an award winning journalist, memoirist, critic, poet and teacher from Atlanta, GA. She is an MFA student in Creative Nonfiction Writing at Columbia University and earned a Bachelor's degree in political science, journalism and social cultural analysis from New York University. She is the Associate Director of the Columbia Artist/Teachers, Director of the Incarcerated Writers Initiative, and Editor-in-Chief of the Exchange Journal, a publication of works from incarcerated authors. She presently teaches creative writing workshops at Rikers Island and The Fortune Society as well as a Columbia Community Course on the personal essay.
