Sharon Yamen has been teaching for over 10 years at various institutions and is now an Assistant Professor at St. John’s University in the Division of Legal Studies. She earned her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law. She is accredited by the U.S. Veterans Administration, assisting veterans in receiving their benefits. She holds her own practice assisting small businesses and start-ups and represents expedition athletes in contract negotiations. Professor Yamens’ research interests are vast and varied and have led to articles on the topics “American Rule,” discrepancies in the law regarding customs and borders protection, the duty to rescue, landlord/tenant law, and equity crowdfunding as a bubble that will burst and most recently the fourth amendment in relation to student searches.
