Zainab Shabbir is a Ph.D. candidate in Developmental Psychology at Clark University whose research examines how migration, culture, and social interactions shape identity development, belonging, and meaning-making among adolescents and emerging adults. Her scholarship integrates developmental, cultural, and discursive approaches to understand how interpersonal dialogue and social contexts influence young people’s adaptation and well-being. She has contributed to collaborative research projects, and her scholarship has been published in journals such as Ethnic and Migration Studies.
Alongside her research, Zainab has extensive experience in teaching and curriculum development across diverse educational settings. She has taught psychology courses at Clark University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, including Cultural Psychology, Experimental Methods, Introduction to Psychology, and Cross-Cultural Psychology. Her teaching emphasizes critical thinking, research-based learning, and connecting psychological theory to real-world social issues.
Zainab holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Clark University and a Master’s in Developmental and Educational Psychology through the Erasmus+ program at the University of Padua (Italy) and Ghent University (Belgium), graduating with honors. She also earned an M.Sc. in Applied Psychology from Quaid-i-Azam University in Pakistan.
