Jack McGourty

Jack McGourty, PhD., is a retired administrative officer and an adjunct professor at Columbia University, specializing in entrepreneurship and innovation. He has taught across multiple schools at Columbia, including the School of Professional Studies, Teachers College, the Business School, and the Engineering School, educating over 10,000 students. Additionally, for the School of Professional Studies, he has taught in the pre-college program for over 20 years and serves as an instructor and Faculty Fellow for the Pedagogical Lab.
He has served in several roles as a university administrative officer, including Vice Dean of the Engineering School. Recognized for his teaching excellence, Dr. McGourty has received awards from Columbia Engineering, Columbia Business School, and Teachers College. He co-authored the bestseller "Patterns of Entrepreneurship Management" (Wiley, 2020) and recently published "Entrepreneurial Innovation and Finance" (McGraw Hill, 2024).
