We are excited to welcome you back to Columbia!
As a returning student, the application process will look a bit different. The information included on this page will provide you with an overview of what to expect, so please read all instructions carefully and be sure to follow the steps outlined for you.
Courses frequently fill up before the application deadline, so students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Applications are processed on a rolling basis and will not be reviewed until all application materials have been submitted.
We are no longer accepting applications for fall 2021.
Priority course selection is given to students who apply by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
All applications and application materials must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
Course Selection Process
Depending on your previous term of participation, the course selection and enrollment process may look different.
Rather than applying and being admitted to a specific curricular option, applicants identify two to four courses of interest during the application process and later self-register for their preferred and approved course(s). Please note, admission to the program does not reserve your spot in a specific course and will only be reserved once you complete the self-registration process.
Course availability is limited, and registration is available on a first-come first-served basis. Early applications are highly encouraged.
Depending on your last year of participation, the application process will vary. To see which process you should follow, click the statement that matches your history of participation.
For those who participated in 2019 or earlier, you will receive an email in early June with an invitation to re-apply. The email will also include a fee waiver code for the $80 application fee.
The application process will require students to create a new application profile and follow the process outlined on the New Applicants page.
If you have not received a fee waiver code by early June, please email email@example.com with your full name and the year you participated. Once your prior enrollment has been confirmed, we will send you a fee waiver code to enter on the application.
For those who participated in 2020 or 2021, you will receive an email in early June, with an invitation to re-enroll for a new term.
Students should not create a new application as it will cause an error message in your application portal. Additionally, please do not create a new application account with a new email address.
The email invitation will contain detailed instructions on how to update your application for the new term and provides an expedited re-enrollment process specifically for returning students. You will be considered a priority registration applicant as long as your application is submitted before the listed deadline.
Your invitation email will include a link to a re-enrollment form. Submit the form and follow the provided instructions to login to your application portal.
Using the instructions provided to you, log in to your application portal and review your existing application form from your most recent program participation.
Update your academic history to include your most up to date high school transcript and current report card.
Current 8th and 9th grade students must supply their most recent report card, or final 8th grade transcript. All institutions attended must be listed in the Academic History section of the online application.
Current 10th–12th grade students must supply their final transcript for grades 9–12, plus their most recent report card for the current school year. All institutions attended must be listed in the Academic History section of the online application.
Applicants must submit a transcript for the US equivalent of grades 9-12. We require grades starting 4 full academic years before your anticipated high school graduation date.
Transcripts must be in English or come with an official translation. International students not graded according to the U.S. grading system should provide a grading key with the transcript. Applicants are recommended to use NACES for such services.
Transcripts must come in PDF format as provided by your school. PDF downloads of unofficial transcripts from student portals can be accepted only if they clearly show your full name, your school’s name, the full name of all courses taken, and all grades achieved in those courses.
If you are unable to obtain an unofficial copy of your transcript, please request to have an official copy sent from your school. It should be e-mailed from a school official’s professional email to firstname.lastname@example.org. It can also be mailed to our office at the address listed on this page. Note that mailed documents can take several weeks to be processed.
Falsification, forgery, any misrepresentation of any type will risk forfeiture of admissions and/or enrollment.
Choose two to four curricular interests from our 50+ offerings.
Review the course descriptions and prerequisites to ensure you meet the minimum eligibility requirements for a class. Please note, admission to the program does not guarantee that the courses of interest are available.
Complete applications, with no missing materials, will be reviewed in 1-2 weeks from the date of submission. You will be notified via email when a decision letter is ready to be viewed in your application portal.
