CSPA Spring Convention

CSPA invites high school students and their faculty advisers to participate in CSPA’s 101st Annual Spring Scholastic Convention and Centennial Celebration. This national gathering of student editors and faculty advisers representing newspapers, websites, yearbooks, magazines, and broadcast media will be held at Columbia University from Wednesday, March 19, through Friday, March 21, 2025.

Delegates may choose from more than 250 sessions organized in seven sequences: newspaper, online media, yearbook, magazine, video/broadcasting, law and ethics, and advisers. All seven sequences will run simultaneously throughout the three days of the convention.

To mark its 100th birthday, CSPA will also hold special Centennial keynote panels. Recipients of the Centennial Awards will be honored at a special luncheon on Friday, and Crown Awards for top publications will be presented at the Awards Convocation Friday afternoon, March 21, 2025.

More than 500 newspapers, magazines, and yearbooks that entered CSPA’s 2024 competitions will be displayed at the 101st Convention. The display will include recent high-scoring publications. Delegates may browse through the publications on Wednesday and Thursday. The Columbia Scholastic Press Advisers Association (CSPAA) will meet on Friday morning.

Deadlines and Fees
Early-bird fees are $189 per person, until February 7, 2025. Following that, the registration fee is $199 per person.

Limited seating is available for the luncheons on Thursday and Friday. While these events are free to attend, each adviser must reserve their seat in advance. We can only accommodate the first 180 people who have reservations for each luncheon. Please reserve your seat only if you are sure you will be able to attend.

If students or advisers wish to register additional persons as part of an existing school delegation, they may do so, but will incur a late fee.

You do not have to be a CSPA member to attend our events.
